Ativan
Also known as Lorazepam. Used to treat anxiety. Enhances effects of GABA. May also be used to reduce the symptoms of alcohol withdrawal, to prevent nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy, and for sleeping trouble (insomnia).
This medication for panic attacks can be habit forming and cause dependence. Withdrawal reactions may occur if you stop suddenly.
Some common side effects are: Drowsiness, dizziness, loss of coordination, headache, nausea, blurred vision, change in sexual interest/ability, hair loss, constipation, heartburn, or change in appetite may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or pharmacist promptly.
